You stop scrambling for certificates of insurance the night before a contract deadline. You answer the phone and talk to someone local who knows your business and remembers your name. When your landlord or a new client asks for proof of general liability insurance, you get it the same day.
Your premiums don’t spike without warning after years of loyalty. If your business grows or your risks change, your agent already knows and adjusts your coverage before you have to ask. You’re not explaining your operation to a call center in another state every time you need help.
That’s what happens when you work with an independent agency that represents over 100 insurance carriers and actually picks up the phone. You get options. You get consistency. You get someone who understands that Arizona businesses deal with monsoon damage, heat-related claims, and contract requirements that don’t wait.
We operate out of Mesa and Peoria with licensed agents who’ve been insuring Arizona businesses for years. We’re not a call center. We’re not an app. We’re a family-owned agency that earned over 930 five-star Google reviews by doing what we said we’d do.
We’ve been named Agents of the Year and recognized as Three Best Rated Insurance Agents in Mesa because we show up. When your business needs workers compensation insurance or commercial auto coverage, you’re talking to someone who knows how Arizona’s workplace injury rates and road conditions affect your premiums.
Maricopa Colony sits in a region where businesses face real exposure—extreme heat, monsoon storms, and contract-driven insurance requirements that change fast. We serve the entire state, but we understand the local risks because we’re insuring our neighbors.
You call or submit a request online. We ask about your business—what you do, how many people work for you, what vehicles you use, what your current coverage looks like. This takes about 10 minutes if you have your existing policy handy.
We shop your coverage across our network of over 100 carriers. That means we’re comparing general liability, professional liability, commercial property insurance, and any specialized coverage you need across dozens of options. We’re looking for the right limits, the right endorsements, and competitive pricing that actually matches how you operate.
You get a quote that makes sense. We walk through what’s covered, what’s not, and why. If you need a certificate of insurance for a contract or lease, we generate it the same day. When you’re ready to move forward, we handle the paperwork and cancel your old policy at no extra cost.
After that, we’re still here. Your business changes, your risks shift, and your agent should already know. That’s the difference between working with a local agency and trying to manage coverage through an automated system that doesn’t know your name.

Most Arizona businesses need general liability insurance—it’s the baseline that landlords, clients, and contracts require. That’s typically $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate. If you have employees, workers compensation insurance isn’t optional. Arizona reported 79,500 non-fatal workplace injuries in 2022, and over 87% came from private sector businesses. You need coverage that responds when someone gets hurt.
If you drive for work or own company vehicles, commercial auto insurance covers accidents, theft, and liability that personal auto policies won’t touch. For service-based businesses, consultants, or anyone giving advice, professional liability insurance—also called errors and omissions insurance or e&o insurance—protects you when a client claims your work caused them financial harm.
Trade insurance covers contractors, electricians, plumbers, and builders who face specialized risks on job sites. Commercial property insurance protects your building, equipment, and inventory from fire, theft, and storm damage. In Arizona, that includes monsoon flooding and wind damage that personal policies exclude.
The mistake most businesses make is shopping by price while the coverage quietly changes. Different limits, missing endorsements, or a commercial vehicle insurance policy that doesn’t match how you actually use your trucks. We build coverage that fits what you do, not just what’s cheapest on paper.
Small businesses in Arizona typically pay around $42 per month for general liability insurance, $46 per month for workers comp, and $71 per month for professional liability or e&o insurance. Most small businesses pay roughly $97 monthly for general liability coverage alone.
Your actual cost depends on what you do, how many employees you have, your claims history, and what limits you need. A contractor with five employees and multiple vehicles will pay more than a solo consultant working from home. The coverage has to match the risk.
The bigger issue isn’t the average—it’s whether you’re comparing identical coverage. A quote that’s $30 cheaper might have half the limits, a higher deductible, or exclusions that gut the policy when you file a claim. We compare coverage across over 100 carriers so you’re seeing real options, not just the lowest number.
You pay out of pocket. That means legal fees, settlement costs, and any judgment against you comes directly from your business and personal assets. Even if the claim is baseless, defending yourself in court costs tens of thousands of dollars before you ever get to trial.
Business liability insurance covers your legal defense and pays settlements or judgments up to your policy limits. Without it, one slip-and-fall claim or one client alleging your work caused financial harm can drain your savings and shut down your operation.
Arizona businesses also face contract requirements. Most landlords, general contractors, and enterprise clients won’t let you work without proof of insurance. If you can’t provide a current certificate of insurance showing $1 million or $2 million in coverage, you don’t get the contract. That’s revenue you lose before risk even enters the picture.
Yes. If you already have an active policy with us, we generate certificates of insurance the same day you request them. Most of the time, it’s within a couple of hours. You tell us who needs to be listed as an additional insured, we update the certificate, and send it over.
If you’re getting a new policy, we can often bind coverage and issue a certificate the same day as long as underwriting approves your application. That depends on the carrier and the type of coverage, but we prioritize urgent requests because we know contracts and leases don’t wait.
The key is having accurate information up front. If your landlord or client has specific insurance requirements—certain limits, additional insured language, or waiver of subrogation—tell us before we quote. That way the policy is built correctly from the start and the certificate reflects what they actually need to see.
In Arizona, yes. If you have even one employee who isn’t an owner or corporate officer, you’re required to carry workers compensation insurance. It doesn’t matter if they’re part-time, seasonal, or family. The law applies as soon as you hire someone.
Workers comp covers medical expenses and lost wages if an employee gets injured on the job. Arizona reported over 79,500 workplace injuries in 2022, and the majority came from small businesses. Without coverage, you’re personally liable for those costs, plus penalties from the state.
The cost depends on your industry and payroll. A desk job costs less to insure than a roofing crew. But the average small business in Arizona pays around $46 per month. That’s a fraction of what you’d pay out of pocket for one emergency room visit after a workplace accident, let alone ongoing medical care or a lawsuit.
General liability insurance covers bodily injury and property damage. If a client trips over your equipment and breaks their arm, or you accidentally damage their building while working, general liability pays for their medical bills, repairs, and your legal defense.
Professional liability insurance—also called errors and omissions or e&o insurance—covers financial harm caused by your advice, services, or failure to deliver what you promised. If a client claims your consulting led to a bad business decision, or your design work caused them to lose money, professional liability covers the claim.
You can’t swap one for the other. A consultant who gives financial advice needs e&o insurance because general liability won’t cover a claim that you gave bad guidance. A contractor needs general liability because e&o won’t cover property damage on a job site. Many businesses need both, depending on what they do and who they serve.
Carriers reassess risk constantly. Even if you haven’t filed a claim, your rate can increase because of industry-wide losses, changes in how your carrier prices risk, or shifts in the broader insurance market. After 15 years of loyalty, your carrier might decide your industry or location is too expensive to insure at the old rate.
Sometimes it’s not even about you. Arizona businesses have seen rate adjustments tied to wildfire exposure, extreme heat claims, and rising costs for construction and repairs. If your carrier had a bad year in your industry nationwide, they pass that cost to everyone in the same business class.
The advantage of working with an independent agency is that we represent over 100 carriers. When one carrier raises your rate or non-renews your policy, we’re already shopping your coverage with other options. You’re not stuck negotiating with one company that’s already decided to increase your premium or walk away.
