You get a policy that accounts for Arizona’s weather risks—wildfires, monsoons, dust storms, extreme heat. Not some generic template that leaves gaps when you file a claim.
You get an agent who picks up the phone. Someone who knows Cave Creek businesses face different exposures than a company in Tucson or Flagstaff. Someone who adjusts your coverage when you add a vehicle, hire employees, or expand your services.
You get access to over 40 insurance carriers, which means we’re comparing rates and coverage terms across the market. If your current carrier raises your premium by 30% at renewal, we’re already shopping your policy to find a better option. That’s what an independent agency does—we work for you, not the insurance company.
Premier Choice Insurance is a family-owned independent agency based in Arizona. We’ve been quoting and placing commercial insurance for businesses across the state since 2015, including Cave Creek, Carefree, Scottsdale, and the surrounding areas near the Tonto Mountains.
We’re not a call center. You’ll work with the same agent who understands your business and can make changes to your policy without transferring you three times. We’ve earned over 930 five-star reviews on Google because we answer the phone, return emails, and actually help when you need us.
Cave Creek businesses deal with wildfire risk, flash flooding, and extreme heat that damages equipment and vehicles. We quote carriers that understand those exposures and price them fairly. If you’ve been with the same company for 15 years and just got hit with a massive rate increase, we can usually find you a better option within a day or two.
You call us or fill out a quote request. We ask about your business—what you do, how many employees you have, what vehicles you operate, your current coverage and premium. Basic information that helps us understand what you need.
We quote your business through multiple carriers. Depending on your industry and coverage needs, we might quote general liability insurance, commercial auto insurance, workers compensation insurance, professional liability insurance, or a business owner’s policy that bundles property and liability coverage. We compare rates and terms, then send you the options that make sense.
You pick the coverage you want. We handle the paperwork, bind the policy, and can even cancel your old policy if you want us to. If you need certificates of insurance for a contract or project, we send those over right away. When something changes—you hire someone, buy a truck, move locations—you call us and we adjust the policy. That’s it.

General liability insurance covers third-party bodily injury and property damage claims. If a customer trips at your location or you accidentally damage someone’s property while working, this is the coverage that responds. Most Cave Creek businesses need at least $1 million per occurrence.
Commercial auto insurance covers vehicles you use for business—trucks, vans, trailers, equipment. Arizona requires liability coverage, but you’ll also want comprehensive and collision if you’re financing the vehicle or can’t afford to replace it out of pocket. Rates vary based on your driving records, the type of vehicle, and how you use it.
Workers compensation insurance is required in Arizona if you have employees. It covers medical bills and lost wages if someone gets hurt on the job. Rates depend on your industry classification and payroll. Construction and trades pay more than office-based businesses.
Professional liability insurance (also called errors and omissions insurance or E&O insurance) covers claims that you made a mistake, gave bad advice, or failed to deliver what you promised. Consultants, contractors, real estate agents, and anyone who provides professional services should carry this coverage.
Commercial property insurance covers your building, equipment, inventory, and business personal property against fire, theft, vandalism, and weather damage. Given Cave Creek’s wildfire and flood risk, you want a policy that doesn’t exclude those perils or cap them too low.
It depends on what you do and what coverage you need. A small retail shop might pay $500 to $800 a year for general liability insurance. A contractor with three employees and two trucks could pay $4,000 to $8,000 annually for a package that includes liability, commercial auto, and workers comp.
Arizona businesses with minimal risk—like a home-based consultant with no employees—can sometimes get a business owner’s policy for under $1,000 a year. Higher-risk businesses like construction, landscaping, or anything involving heavy equipment will pay more because the chance of a claim is higher.
The best way to know what you’ll pay is to get quoted. We pull rates from 40+ carriers, so you’re seeing the competitive range for your specific business. If your current premium seems high, we can usually tell you within a day whether we can beat it.
A business owner’s policy (BOP) bundles general liability insurance and commercial property insurance into one policy, usually at a lower price than buying them separately. It’s designed for small businesses with standard risks—retail shops, offices, service businesses.
If you operate out of a physical location and have equipment or inventory to protect, a BOP often makes sense. You get liability coverage for customer injuries and property damage, plus property coverage for your building contents, all in one package.
But a BOP doesn’t include commercial auto insurance, workers compensation, or professional liability. Those are separate policies you add based on what your business does. Some businesses don’t need a BOP at all—if you work from home and don’t have much property to insure, you might just need liability and maybe professional liability coverage. We look at your situation and recommend what actually fits.
Yes. Arizona requires workers compensation insurance as soon as you have one employee. It doesn’t matter if they’re part-time, full-time, or family members. If you pay them wages and they’re not an independent contractor, you need coverage.
The penalty for not carrying workers comp when you’re required to is steep—fines, potential lawsuits, and you could be personally liable for medical bills and lost wages if someone gets hurt. It’s not worth the risk.
Rates are based on your payroll and industry classification code. Office workers cost less to insure than roofers or landscapers because the injury risk is lower. If you’re a sole proprietor with no employees, you’re not required to carry it, but you can buy a policy to cover yourself if you want the protection.
It depends on the type of claim, how much it costs, and your claims history. One small claim usually won’t spike your rate, especially if you’ve been claims-free for years. Multiple claims or one large claim can definitely increase your premium at renewal.
Insurance companies look at loss history when they price your policy. If you file three claims in two years, they see you as a higher risk and charge accordingly. Some carriers are more forgiving than others, which is why working with an independent agency matters—we can move you to a carrier that won’t penalize you as hard.
That said, you shouldn’t avoid filing legitimate claims just to keep your rate low. That’s what insurance is for. If you have a covered loss, file the claim. We’ll help you manage the process and shop your policy at renewal if your rate goes up more than it should.
You’re personally responsible for the amount above your policy limit. If you carry $1 million in general liability coverage and a court awards $1.5 million, you’re on the hook for the extra $500,000. That can mean going after your personal assets—your home, savings, other property.
This is why businesses with significant exposure or assets often carry umbrella insurance or higher liability limits. An umbrella policy sits on top of your general liability and auto liability coverage and kicks in when those limits are exhausted. It’s relatively inexpensive—often a few hundred dollars a year for an extra $1 million in coverage.
We talk through your risk exposure when we quote your policy. If you work on high-value properties, have a lot of customer traffic, or operate in an industry with frequent lawsuits, carrying just the minimum liability limit probably isn’t enough. We’ll recommend limits that actually protect you based on what you do and what you could lose.
Yes. You can cancel most commercial policies anytime and switch to a new carrier. You’ll get a prorated refund for the unused portion of your premium, minus any cancellation fees if your policy has them.
Some business owners wait until renewal to switch because it’s cleaner, but if your rate just jumped or your carrier non-renewed you, there’s no reason to wait. We can quote you, bind a new policy, and cancel the old one—all within a few days.
We handle the cancellation paperwork if you want us to. You don’t have to call your old agent or deal with the back-and-forth. We send the cancellation request, make sure the new policy is active first so you don’t have a gap in coverage, and confirm you get your refund. If you’re frustrated with your current carrier and want out, we make it easy.
