Your rate jumped again. Or your company dropped you after one claim. Now you’re stuck calling around, repeating your information to five different companies, wondering if you’re actually getting a fair deal.
Here’s what changes when you work with us. You share your situation once. We pull quotes from carriers like Progressive, GEICO, USAA, AAA, and Direct Auto—all at the same time. You see what each one offers, what they cost, and where the gaps are. No sales pitch. No runaround.
Most people switching from a single carrier to our multi-company approach save between $460 and $900 annually. That’s not a promotional number—it’s what happens when you actually compare. And if your current company is still the best fit, we’ll tell you that too.
We’ve been serving Arizona drivers for years from our Mesa office. We’re not a national chain. We’re a family-owned agency that represents over 100 insurance carriers, which means we work for you—not one company’s bottom line.
Rio Verde drivers face specific challenges. You’re in an age-restricted community where most residents are over 65, which means you’ve likely seen your rates climb just because of your birthday. You drive less than most people—maybe 5,000 miles a year—but not every company rewards that. And when dust storms roll through or summer heat cracks your windshield, you need coverage that actually responds.
We’ve earned 930+ five-star Google reviews by doing one thing consistently: picking up the phone and helping people navigate this stuff without the jargon. You’ll talk to the same agents every time. We’re here when your situation changes, not just when your policy renews.
First, we talk. You tell us what you’re paying now, what coverage you have, and what’s frustrating you about it. Takes about 10 minutes. We ask questions most agents skip—like how many miles you actually drive, whether you’ve taken a defensive driving course recently, and if you’re bundling your home and auto.
Next, we shop. We pull quotes from our network of 40+ top-rated carriers. That includes the big names you’ve heard of—Progressive, GEICO, State Farm, Travelers—and regional companies that often beat them on price for Arizona drivers. We’re looking at more than just the premium. We’re comparing deductibles, liability limits, uninsured motorist coverage, and how each company handles claims.
Then we explain what we found. You’ll see the numbers side by side. We’ll point out where one company offers better coverage for the same price, or where a slightly higher premium gets you significantly more protection. If you decide to switch, we handle the paperwork and cancel your old policy. If you don’t, nothing changes. No pressure either way.

Rio Verde isn’t Phoenix. You’re not commuting in rush hour traffic. Most residents here are retired, driving to Scottsdale for appointments or Fort McDowell for errands. That lower mileage should lower your premium—but only if your insurance company knows about it and actually offers a discount for it.
Arizona’s average car insurance cost is $1,626 per year, which is below the national average. But if you’re over 70, you’re likely paying closer to $2,663 annually. Some of that increase is unavoidable—insurance companies price for risk, and statistically, older drivers file more expensive claims. But a lot of it comes down to which company you’re with. GEICO, for example, averages $86 monthly for senior drivers in Arizona, which is 36% below the national average for that age group.
You should also know that Arizona has a high number of uninsured drivers. That makes uninsured motorist coverage critical, not optional. If someone hits you and doesn’t have insurance, your UM coverage is what pays for your injuries and repairs. We make sure that’s included in every quote we run. Same with comprehensive coverage for weather damage—dust storms, hail, and extreme heat aren’t rare here. They’re routine.
Rates increased an average of 7% nationwide last year, and most companies raised premiums across the board regardless of individual driving records. You’re not being singled out—it’s happening to almost everyone.
But here’s what matters: not all companies raised rates by the same amount. Some went up 4%, others jumped 12%. If you’ve been with the same company for years, you might be absorbing increases that you could avoid by switching. Insurance companies also adjust rates based on your age, your ZIP code’s claim history, and even your credit score in Arizona.
The other factor is that you might have been getting a “new customer” discount that expired. A lot of companies offer lower introductory rates, then gradually increase them after year three or five. That’s legal, and it’s buried in the fine print. Shopping your rate every couple of years keeps you from paying loyalty penalties.
When you go directly to Progressive, you get a quote from Progressive. When you call GEICO, you get a quote from GEICO. When you work with us, you get quotes from both—plus 38 other companies—at the same time.
We’re independent, which means we’re not employed by any single insurance company. We represent over 100 carriers, and we get paid the same commission regardless of which one you choose. That removes the incentive to push you toward one company over another. Our job is to find the best fit for your situation, not to hit a sales quota for a corporate office.
The other advantage is ongoing support. If you buy a policy directly from a company and need to file a claim or adjust your coverage, you’re calling their 1-800 number. If you’re our client, you’re calling us. Same people, every time. We handle the paperwork, follow up with the carrier, and make sure things actually get resolved.
Consumer Reports found that the median savings for people who switched was $461 per year. About 30% of switchers saved between $500 and $999 annually. Those aren’t outliers—they’re typical results when you compare rates properly.
The savings are usually largest for people who’ve been with the same company for more than five years, drivers over 65, and anyone who’s had a rate increase they didn’t shop around after. If you’re in Rio Verde and you’re paying more than $200 a month for full coverage, there’s a good chance we can find you something better.
That said, cheaper isn’t always better. We’ve seen people save $600 a year by switching, only to realize their new policy had half the liability coverage and a $2,000 deductible instead of $500. We make sure you’re comparing the same coverage levels, not just the premium. Sometimes the best move is staying where you are. But you won’t know unless you actually look.
If you’re over 55, you should be getting a mature driver discount. If you’ve taken a defensive driving course in the last three years, that’s another 5-25% off depending on the carrier. Low mileage is huge—if you’re driving under 7,500 miles a year, some companies will cut your rate significantly.
You should also be getting a multi-policy discount if you have homeowners or renters insurance. That’s usually 15-20% off both policies. If you’ve been with the same company for more than five years, there’s often a loyalty discount, though frankly, those are getting smaller. And if you pay your premium in full instead of monthly, most companies knock off another 5-10%.
Here’s the catch: not every company offers all of those discounts, and some are more generous than others. USAA and GEICO tend to have the best senior rates in Arizona. AAA offers solid discounts if you’re a member. Direct Auto and Progressive are competitive for people with less-than-perfect driving records. We know which companies reward which behaviors, so we’re not just guessing—we’re matching your profile to the carriers that will actually discount for it.
You can cancel your current policy anytime. Most people worry about penalties, but Arizona law requires companies to refund your unused premium if you cancel mid-term. If you paid for six months and cancel after three, you get half your money back. It’s prorated, and it’s automatic.
We handle the cancellation for you. You don’t have to call your old company, sit on hold, or deal with retention offers. We submit the cancellation request, confirm the refund amount, and make sure there’s no gap in coverage. Your new policy starts the same day your old one ends—usually at 12:01 a.m.—so you’re never uninsured.
The only time we recommend waiting is if you’re close to renewal anyway, or if canceling early would trigger a small short-rate penalty. Some companies charge a fee if you cancel within the first 60 days. We’ll tell you if that applies and whether it makes sense to wait a few weeks. Most of the time, though, switching immediately saves you more than any penalty would cost.
Arizona requires $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident in bodily injury liability, plus $15,000 in property damage coverage. That’s called 25/50/15, and it’s the legal minimum. It’s also not nearly enough if you cause a serious accident.
The average third-party injury claim in the U.S. is now $29,900—and that’s just the average. If you hit someone and they need surgery, physical therapy, or miss work for months, you could be looking at $100,000 or more. If your policy only covers $25,000, you’re personally responsible for the rest. They can garnish your wages, put a lien on your home, and come after your retirement accounts.
We usually recommend at least 100/300/100 coverage, especially for Rio Verde residents who have assets to protect. The difference in premium between minimum coverage and significantly better protection is often $30-50 a month. That’s real money, but it’s a lot less than what you’d lose in a lawsuit. We’ll show you the cost difference and let you decide what makes sense for your situation.
