You’re not looking for insurance because it’s fun. You need it because one lawsuit, one accident, or one unexpected claim could wipe out years of work.
The right commercial insurance means you can sign contracts without worrying about liability gaps. It means your trucks are covered if someone hits them on the I-10. It means if an employee gets hurt, you’re not scrambling to figure out workers compensation requirements while also trying to run your business.
Tolleson sits right at the I-10 and Loop 101 interchange, which makes it perfect for distribution and logistics companies. It also means higher traffic, more commercial vehicles, and more exposure. That’s not a scare tactic—it’s just reality. And the businesses that do well here are the ones that plan for it.
When your policy actually covers what you need and your agent picks up when you call, insurance stops being a headache. It becomes what it should be: protection that works in the background so you can focus on running your company.
We’re a family-owned independent agency based in Mesa, serving businesses across Tolleson and the entire state of Arizona. We’ve earned over 930 five-star Google reviews and the Agents of the Year 2023 award because we do something most agencies don’t: we actually pick up the phone.
We work with more than 40 top-rated carriers, which means we’re not trying to force you into one company’s box. We shop your coverage across multiple options and find what actually fits your business and budget.
Tolleson’s economy runs on warehousing, distribution, and industrial operations. We insure those businesses every day. We know what Union Pacific rail access means for your property risk. We understand why commercial auto insurance matters when your drivers are on the road to Phoenix, Glendale, or Avondale multiple times a day. And we know that the businesses operating here need agents who understand Arizona—not someone reading from a script in another state.
First, we talk. You tell us what your business does, how many people you employ, what kind of vehicles or property you need covered, and what’s keeping you up at night. If you’ve been hit with a rate increase or a cancellation notice, we want to know that too.
Then we shop. We take that information and run it through our network of over 40 carriers. We’re looking for the best combination of coverage and price—not just the cheapest option, but the one that actually protects you if something goes wrong.
Once we’ve found the right fit, we walk you through the policy. You’ll know what’s covered, what’s not, and what your options are if your business changes. We also handle the cancellation of your old policy if you’re switching, at no cost to you.
After that, we don’t disappear. If you hire more people, add vehicles, or expand your operations, we’re here to adjust your coverage. If you need to file a claim, you call us—not an 800 number. That’s the difference between working with a local agency and dealing with a faceless carrier.

General liability insurance covers you if a customer gets injured on your property or if you’re sued for damages. In Arizona, the average cost is around $42 per month, but that varies based on your industry and risk level.
Workers compensation insurance is required by Arizona law if you have even one employee. It covers medical costs and lost wages if someone gets hurt on the job. Average cost in Arizona runs about $46 per month, though rates depend heavily on what your employees actually do. A warehouse worker has different risk than an office administrator.
Commercial auto insurance covers your business vehicles—whether that’s a single truck or an entire fleet. If you’re running deliveries across the Valley or hauling freight on the I-10, this isn’t optional. It protects you from liability if your driver causes an accident, and it covers your vehicle if it’s damaged or stolen.
Professional liability insurance, also called errors and omissions insurance, covers you if a client claims your work caused them financial harm. If you’re a consultant, contractor, or service provider, this is often the difference between surviving a lawsuit and closing your doors.
Commercial property insurance protects your building, equipment, and inventory. Tolleson’s industrial areas see everything from extreme heat to the occasional monsoon. If your property or your stock gets damaged, this is what gets you back up and running.
It depends on what you do, how many people you employ, and what you need covered. A small office with three employees will pay a lot less than a warehouse operation with 20 workers and a fleet of trucks.
In Arizona, general liability averages around $42 per month. Workers comp averages $46 per month. Professional liability runs closer to $71 per month. But those are just statewide averages—your actual cost depends on your specific risk profile.
The bigger issue right now is that rates have been climbing. Arizona businesses are seeing premium increases between 7% and 12% across the board, driven by rising claims costs, nuclear verdicts in Maricopa County, and increased underwriting scrutiny. That’s why shopping your coverage across multiple carriers matters. The difference between the most expensive and least expensive option can be significant.
Yes. Arizona law requires it if you have even one employee, whether they’re full-time or part-time. There’s no minimum threshold.
If you don’t carry it and someone gets hurt, you’re personally liable for their medical bills, lost wages, and any legal costs if they sue. Even a minor injury can cost tens of thousands of dollars. A serious one can bankrupt a small business.
Workers comp also protects you from lawsuits. When an employee accepts workers comp benefits, they generally can’t sue you for the injury. Without that coverage, you’re exposed to legal action on top of the medical costs. It’s not worth the risk, and it’s not legal to skip it.
Commercial auto insurance covers vehicles used for business purposes. If you’re driving to job sites, making deliveries, hauling equipment, or transporting goods, you need commercial coverage. Personal auto policies specifically exclude business use.
The coverage limits are usually higher because the risk is higher. A commercial vehicle is on the road more often, in more situations, and often carrying more weight or more valuable cargo. If your driver causes an accident while working, the damages can be substantial—and your business is liable.
If you’re using your personal vehicle occasionally for business errands, you might be able to add a business use endorsement to your personal policy. But if the vehicle is primarily used for business, or if it’s titled to your company, you need a full commercial auto policy. Using the wrong coverage can leave you completely unprotected if something happens.
You’re not alone. Commercial insurance rates across Arizona have increased 7% to 12% over the past couple of years, and it’s not because individual businesses are suddenly riskier.
A big driver is what’s called “nuclear verdicts”—jury awards over $10 million. Maricopa County has seen several construction injury lawsuits result in verdicts topping $5 million, and those costs get spread across the entire market. Even if you’re not in construction, you’re affected because carriers are raising rates across the board to cover their exposure.
Cyber claims are also spiking. More Arizona businesses are getting hit with ransomware, data breaches, and business email compromise scams. Carriers are paying out more, so they’re charging more. Add in inflation, rising medical costs, and increased litigation, and you get an environment where premiums climb even for businesses with clean records. The best defense is shopping your policy across multiple carriers every year to make sure you’re not overpaying.
Don’t panic, but don’t wait either. Carriers are getting more selective about who they’ll insure, and non-renewals are more common than they used to be. Sometimes it’s because of claims history. Sometimes it’s because the carrier is pulling out of certain industries or regions entirely.
You typically have 30 to 60 days from the notice date to find new coverage. That’s enough time, but not a lot of extra room. Start shopping immediately, because if your policy lapses, you’ll have a coverage gap on your record—and that makes you harder to insure and more expensive when you do find coverage.
Bring your cancellation notice, your current policy documents, and any loss runs (claim history) to us. We’ll shop your coverage across our 40+ carriers and find someone who will take you. In many cases, we can find you better coverage at a comparable or even lower price than what you were paying before the cancellation. We also handle the cancellation paperwork on your old policy at no charge, so you’re not stuck dealing with that headache.
If you’re providing advice, designs, plans, or professional services as part of your work, yes. Errors and omissions insurance—also called professional liability—covers you if a client claims your work caused them financial harm.
Let’s say you’re an HVAC contractor and you spec the wrong size unit for a commercial building. The system doesn’t cool properly, and the client loses business because their space is uncomfortable. They sue you for the cost of replacing the system plus their lost revenue. That’s an E&O claim, and general liability won’t cover it.
The same applies if you’re a consultant, engineer, architect, IT professional, or anyone else whose work involves judgment calls and recommendations. A mistake or an oversight can be expensive, and clients are more willing than ever to sue when something goes wrong. E&O insurance covers your legal defense and any settlement or judgment, up to your policy limits. In Arizona, it averages around $71 per month, but the cost varies based on your industry and revenue.
